Let's Go Fishing!

15-Pounder on a 33 in 170-Feet of Water!

23-year-old Key West Captain Chris Trosset accepted the limit-pushing, partially nutty, challenge to catch something big on a Zebco 33 spooled with 10-pound Cajun Red line from the ocean.

And boy, did the young Trosset deliver within 24-hours of the challenge.

With his boat parked in 117-feet of water, 18 miles SW of Key West, Florida, Chris Trosset fought and landed a 15-pound Mahi Mahi with fishing's most famous reel -- The Zebco 33.

Trosset normally fishes with historically proven Fin-Nor reels, rather than the freshwater reel most often responsible for a youngster's first freshwater catfish or bluegill.

The battle lasted 15 minutes from 3:35 p.m. until 3:50 p.m. and towed Trosset's 10-pound line around a floating lobster trap buoy, and then his own anchor rope amid the chaos.

A live pilchard was the bait, and the fish bit 10-feet behind Trosset's anchored 29-foot, twin Suzuki powered SeeVee.
